I love design. I love the process, the research, the failures, the successes and yes, even the frustrations. At the end of the day I understand we aren’t saving babies, we aren’t curing Cancer and we certainly aren’t rocket scientists. What I do is design. I try to make sense of someone else’s vision, I put a visual language to an idea or a dream or some epiphany that happened in the middle of the night. I enjoy brainstorming with clients instead of telling them what I will or won’t do. I make every effort to be a responsible and sustainable designer. Being aware of how my designs may affect the environment allows me to make better and more creative design decisions.

What about me as a person? Well, my life plays out like an episode of Little House on the Prairie. My father loaded up his wife, two kids and 4 chickens in a 1970 VW bus and headed towards New Mexico. The dream was to live off the land. My father and uncle constructed our house out of the trees that grew on our property. We didn’t have electricity or running water. We ate what we grew, collected eggs and chased after lizards. When the bark beetles ate our home it was time to move. That is the reader’s digest version of the early years. You’ll have to wait for the memoir for the rest.

I’m fortunate to have a career that I love. I create, learn, laugh and play with teams of talented people. I knew at a young age that I wanted to be an artist. I never thought years later I would still be doing the one thing that was my past-time, my sanity, my dream and my playtime.
